SOMA intends to build social housing which enhance well-being and create opportunity for self development. We intend to do this by building sustainable dwellings which conform to the highest standards. Accordingly we conduct in depth research and constantly network with the academic institutions and professional bodies which specialise in the environment, sustainability, housing, health and well being.

Oxford Institute of Sustainable Development The Oxford Institute for Sustainable Development (OISD), founded in 2004, is one of the UK's largest research institutes dedicated to sustainable development research in the built and natural environments.

ARCC

Adaptation and Resilience in the Context of Change network The Adaptation and Resilience in the Context of Change network (ARCC) was staffed and managed by UKCIP, and hosted by the Environmental Change Institute, University of Oxford. The network supported the creation of robust built environment and infrastructure sectors within the UK, to deliver benefits to society, the economy and the environment.

Oxfordshire Community Foundation

OCF - Community Led Housing OCF is working with Oxford City Council, Community First Oxfordshire and Oxfordshire Community Land Trust to explore options on how community-led housing could be delivered sustainably within Oxford.

OFHN We hope to bring together groups, organisations, activists and housing professionals in Oxford together to build effective collaboration, and fight for fairer housing together.

Bioregional

OPAL - One Planet Affordable Living One Planet Affordable Living (OPAL) is a new approach to housing delivery by Transition by Design and Bioregional. It prioritises citizen engagement and genuine affordability utilising the One Planet Living framework for truly sustainable communities. Through analysing case studies from across Europe and carrying out interviews with industry experts, this report details the requirements and processes for creating an OPAL scheme in areas of high housing demand.

Eden Project Communities Our aim is to improve the happiness and wellbeing of people across the UK by helping to build more resilient and better connected communities. Eden supports and encourages people all over the UK to take positive actions that strengthen local connections and build stronger communities. We bring people together to build their confidence and grow and share their talents. We support individuals and communities as they create positive change to tackle local issues that matter to them most.

People and Planet

People and Planet People & Planet is the largest student network in the UK campaigning for social and environmental justice. We envision a future in which spiraling inequality, instability, climate crisis and resource depletion are reversed, and a world in which the balance of power in society has fundamentally shifted away from the few to the many.

Sustainable Development Commission

The Sustainable Development Scorecard Chaired by former planning minister, Nick Raynsford, the Sustainable Development Commission was set up to address this recognised issue with our planning system. Made up of a balanced cross-section of industry professionals, the Commission has debated the issues and found solutions, culminating in the creation of the Sustainable Development Scorecard.

Sylva Foundation

Sylva Foundation We aim to help Britain's trees and woodlands thrive for people and for nature and believe that a dynamic relationship between people and the natural environment is critically important for a sustainable future. We do this by demonstrating how woodlands are relevant to modern society as well as helping ensure they are resilient to environmental change. Sylva Foundation is an environmental charity registered in England and Wales.

Shared Assets

Shared Assets Shared Assets is a not-for-profit company limited by guarantee, with the aim of developing and promoting new models of common good land use. Since we launched in 2012 we have rapidly developed a growing reputation as experts in this pioneering field. We support the development of new models of managing land that are sustainable and productive, create livelihoods, enhance the environment, and involve local people in making decisions about the places they care about.

Open access to local data The platform provides a selection of official statistics and data outputs on a variety of themes related to MHCLG’s objectives: Driving up housing supply, increasing home ownership, devolving powers and budgets to boost local growth in England and supporting strong communities with excellent public services, as well as supporting reference data used to describe and link the data.
